Robbery Suspect Arrested In Redwood City

Deputies allege the man pulled out a knife while attempting to rob a victim at a business in North Fair Oaks last week.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A Redwood City man is accused of attempting to rob someone at knifepoint at a North Fair Oaks business, according to the sheriff's office.

In a news release Wednesday, investigators said the victim reported the incident from a location on Middlefield Road on May 30. The victim told deputies a man demanded money from and brandished a knife before speeding away in a vehicle.

Detectives following up on the case identified a suspect and took him into custody Wednesday afternoon on Rolison Road in Redwood City. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of strong-arm robbery and brandishing a deadly weapon. Officials said the suspect also had an out-of-county warrant and a probation violation.
