Shots Fired Into Redwood City Mexican Restaurant: Sheriff

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Gunshots were fired into a Redwood City restaurant early Sunday morning and several people sustained minor injuries, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting occurred at Mariscos El Camino, a Mexican restaurant on El Camino Real, according to the sheriff’s department. An unknown number of suspects fired an undisclosed number of rounds into the restaurant, according to a news release.

The incident took place just before 2 a.m. Sunday. The sheriff's department did not release information about a possible motive.

Detectives are following up with victims and witnesses, the sheriff’s department said. Charges related to the incident include attempted murder and shooting into an inhabited dwelling.
