REDWOOD CITY, CA — Another round of heat is headed for the Bay Area and firefighters from several agencies will join up to train for wildfire season this week in San Mateo County.

County officials said the annual exercise is critical for fire crews around Redwood City, Woodside and Menlo Park to brush up on their skills to assist in fires locally and across the Golden State. While the training will not involve live fire or smoke, neighbors in the area may notice some action around Huddart County Park throughout the week.

"During this exercise, park users and neighbors may see fire trucks and hear equipment," county officials said. "Helicopters from several agencies will fly in the area and practice landing and take-off in the park."
