Storms Knock Out Power For 1000s On The Peninsula
A cluster of outages reported Wednesday afternoon knocked out power for thousands around Redwood City and unincorporated areas, PG&E said.
MARIN COUNTY, CA — PG&E crews responded to multiple power outages on the Peninsula Wednesday afternoon as a powerful atmospheric river made its way into the Bay Area, packed with heavy rain and high winds.
As of 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, PG&E said more than a dozen unplanned outages were impacting 3,162 customers in San Mateo County, including 2,635 without power in Redwood City and 514 in unincorporated areas.
Forecasters said strong wind gusts of 40 mph or higher would create additional hazards through Thursday morning, elevating risks for downed trees and additional power outages.
