Man Accused Of Punching Random Victims Arrested In San Mateo County
Police have arrested a man accused of punching three people, including an elderly man, around the Redwood City area.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A man accused of punching three people in apparently random attacks in the Redwood City area has been arrested by deputies in San Mateo County.
Police in Redwood City said they were searching for an unidentified assailant after two victims were assaulted in the span of 30 minutes.
According to the sheriff's office, the first victim was a 78-year-old man who was in a Grocery Outlet parking when he was struck. The second incident happened right in front of the Hall of Justice, where a woman employed by the county was heading into work.
Police shared a surveillance photo of a man suspected in the assaults before a third assault was reported in North Fair Oaks. The sheriff's office said the victim, also a county employee, was struck around 5 p.m. near Middlefield Road. Deputies saturated the area and located the man nearby.
The sheriff's office identified the suspect as Miguel Angel Landa, 37, of Redwood City. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of multiple crimes, including elder abuse, assault and battery, and a parole violation.
