Suspected Gang Member Arrested for Alleged Assault of Teen
The victim suffered head and facial injuries after he responded that he wasn't in a gang.
A suspected gang member was arrested for allegedly assaulting a teenage boy in Redwood City earlier this week, said.
The 16-year-old victim was walking in the 2200 block of El Camino Real around 4 p.m. Tuesday when a man approached him and questioned him about his gang affiliation.
When the boy responded that he did not belong to a gang, the man punched and kicked him in response, police said.

The victim suffered head and facial injuries in the attack. He was transported to a hospital for treatment and was later released, according to police.
Investigators identified a suspect in the assault and arrested him in the 100 block of Chestnut Street.

The suspect was identified as Kriston James Speck, 38, of San Mateo, police said.
Speck was booked into San Mateo County jail on suspicion of the assault, gang-related charges and a parole violation, according to police.
