Thieves Who Robbed Woman Outside Home Sought By Sheriff's: SMC

The woman was sitting in her vehicle when the couple approached, stole her purse and tried to rip off her necklace, SMC Sheriff's reported.

REDWOOD CITY, CA —A couple described as being in their late teens to early 20s are being sought by San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies for robbing a woman in her vehicle parked outside her house on West Summit Drive in the Emerald Lakes area.

The identities of the man and woman are unknown, the sheriff's department indicated Wednesday, the day after the 1:53 p.m. call.

According to a sheriff's report, the suspects approached the victim, and the woman who was
last seen wearing a hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans reached inside the victim’s vehicle and grabbed her purse. Then, she attempted to rip a necklace from the victim’s neck but was unable.

From there, the two suspects ran to a white vehicle parked a few houses away from the victim’s location and drove eastbound on West Summit Drive in the unincorporated area of the county. The vehicle's make and model are unknown.

Deputies searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects or their vehicle.
