Tracks Cleared After Man Fatally Struck: Caltrain
Both the north- and southbound tracks have reopened after a man was struck and killed on the tracks near Hillsdale at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday.
SAN MATEO, CA -- A man died when a Caltrain struck him on the tracks at the Hillsdale Station in San Mateo. The southbound train No. 602 struck the man at 4:22 p.m., holding all train traffic headed in that direction, Caltrain reported. Emergency personnel responded to the scene.
All south- and northbound trains were cleared to run about four hours later.
There were more than 300 passengers onboard the southbound train. No other injuries were reported. This is Caltrain’s fourth fatality of 2019.
