Roads Re-Opened After ‘Gunman’ Flees
Police had closed the 101/Woodside Road highway ramp and surrounding area to search for a man with a weapon, which turned out to be a bb-gun.
The US-101 off-ramp at Woodside Road is now re-opened after a police hunt for a man with a weapon resulted in the retrieval of a bb-gun, according to Sgt. Sean Hart of the Redwood City Police Department.
The police received a call Wednesday afternoon from a citizen who believed he or she had spotted a man with a gun in the area. The police responded to the area and spotted the man, who fled from authorities.
Police then created a perimeter search, closing off the surrounding roads, to search for him. California Highway Patrol was also called in to assist in the search, which took place between Chestnut Street and Woodside Road.
