• Raw water cost to Manteca may rise 334 percent (mantecabulletin.com) — Ripon’s future treated surface water costs are poised to jump sharply as the South San Joaquin Irrigation District plans a 334% increase in its in-district raw water rate starting in 2027. While Manteca currently pays the $30.89 per acre-foot rate that Ripon will face once it begins drawing treated water, that price could climb to $163.40 by 2031 to fund major system upgrades.
   

• SOCCER ROUNDUP: East Union prevails in top-10 showdown with Johansen (mantecabulletin.com) — Ripon High’s girls soccer team notched its seventh shutout of the season with a 3-0 win over Downey in Modesto, highlighted by two late goals assisted by Danielle Rey. Sophomore keeper Giuliana Locarnini made two saves, while Mia Hendryx scored twice and Alexis Zamora added another as the Indians improved to 8-3 overall.
   

• Freeway pursuit of speeder starts in Ceres, ends in Ripon (cerescourier.com) — A high-speed pursuit that began in Ceres ended outside a Ripon residence after officers tracked a black Audi reportedly reaching up to 130 mph on Highway 99. The 27-year-old Ripon driver was stopped on Van Slyke Court with help from multiple agencies, showed signs of intoxication, and was later booked after a hospital blood draw.
