The department says it’s combining outreach, service referrals, and targeted enforcement around town, working with The Gathering Inn and county housing programs amid changing court rules on how cities can regulate camping.

Placer Sheriff Seeks Witnesses in Rocklin Fentanyl Homicide (hoodline.com) — Detectives are asking Rocklin residents to help identify the occupants of a dark SUV seen around 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 21 at 4415 Granite Drive, tied to a fentanyl-related homicide investigation. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office says the people in the vehicle may have witnessed key activity in the parking lot and urges anyone with information to call the sheriff’s tip line.

BC wrestlers 10th in state, heavyweight Jonathan Garcia runner-up (fresnobee.com) — Rocklin hosted the 3C2A State Wrestling Championships at Sierra College, where Bakersfield College finished 10th overall and heavyweight Jonathan Garcia took second place. Twenty-two teams from across California competed, with Mt. San Antonio College winning the team title and several BC wrestlers earning individual placements after hard-fought brackets.
