Up To $30K Waste Prevention Grants In Oakland: Deadline Thursday

ROCKRIDGE, CA — Business owners, schools, institutions and nonprofits in Oakland and throughout Alameda County are encouraged to apply for grants that will help prevent food waste. Each business or nonprofit is eligible for up to $30,000. With $1.1 million available, there's a good chance that applicants will be chosen.

The grants are available to nonprofits, businesses, institutions, and school districts. Pitch an innovative project that will prevent surplus food from being generated by redesigning the way food is produced, processed, distributed or prepared.

The funding is also available for projects that recover and redistribute surplus edible food that is donated to address food insecurity and nourish communities.
