Oakland Hosts Community Clean-Ups At 7 City Parks Ahead Of Earth Day

OAKLAND - The city of Oakland is in the middle of a weeklong "spring cleaning" leading up to Earth Day Saturday. Mayor Sheng Thao joined with volunteers Wednesday to roll up their sleeves and spruce up seven city parks.

"Anytime we get to do that we take advantage of it," said Alex Lizama, an Oakland city worker. "Like today we are able to get a lot of help, so we get to do more."
