Person Found Dead In Bay Area Estuary

OAKLAND, CA -- A person was found dead Sunday morning at an Oakland estuary. The person was discovered after officers responded to the scene of a car in the estuary between Park Street Bridge and Fruitvale Bridge, according to the Oakland Police Department.

Police said witnesses shortly after 8 a.m. The car was discovered before 10 a.m. as divers went into the water to search for victims.

A person, whose identity was not identified, was taken to a nearby hospital, police said.

As of 11:45 a.m., the scene was still being investigated as divers continue to search the area, police said.
