SMART Closures Slated for Sonoma County

As we continue rebuilding the railroad tracks in preparation for passenger rail service, SMART contractor Stacy Witbeck/Herzog will be replacing several railroad crossings in the coming weeks.

The following is an UPDATED list of anticipated closure dates. Revisions to previously announced preliminary dates are noted with an asterisk (*).

These roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic at the railroad crossing. Controlled pedestrian access will be available. There will be electronic message boards at each crossing and detour signs showing alternate routes. Please use alternate routes when traveling through these areas.

Safety is very important to SMART, and we are working hard to maximize safety during our construction phase. SMART’s contractor is also coordinating with local Emergency Services on contingency planning in preparation for the closures.

The public can help ensure safe project completion by following detour instructions and staying clear of all construction equipment and activities.
