Arrest Made In Assault Of Elderly Person In Rohnert Park, Police Say
An unhoused 21-year-old resident of Santa Rosa was arrested on suspicion of the attack, police said.
ROHNERT PARK, CA β An arrest was made Thursday in connection with the assault of an elderly person last month in Rohnert Park, police said.
The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety received a 911 call on Feb. 10 about the assault which took place outside of a healthcare facility in the 6000 block of Commerce Boulevard.
Officers responded and tended to the needs of the elderly person who was then taken to a hospital.

Video surveillance of the assault was obtained but police were not able to locate the suspect at that time.
The investigation continued and officers identified the suspect as Isaiah Lopez, a 21-year-old unhoused resident of Santa Rosa.

After the Santa Rosa Police Department arrested Lopez for unrelated charges Thursday, Rohnert Park officers interviewed Lopez and arrested him on suspicion of one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury and one felony count of elder abuse resulting in great bodily injury.
Lopez was booked into Sonoma County jail and his bail was set at $50,000.
