Driver Hospitalized After Rohnert Park Crash Into Tree
Authorities said speed and rain were factors in the solo-vehicle crash Sunday night, leaving the driver with life-threatening injuries.

ROHNERT PARK, CA β Rohnert Park police say speed and rainy conditions appear to have
contributed to a solo-vehicle accident Sunday night that left a 20-year-old driver with life-threatening injuries.
The accident on Golf Course Drive near Halcyon Way was reported to Rohnert Park police at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the driver, a Rohnert Park resident, was driving a Toyota Corolla east on Golf Course Drive, passing several cars at what a witness said appeared to be about 50 mph. The male driver apparently tried to change lanes on a curve, and went into a slide before hitting a tree off the right side of the road, police said.
Bystanders helped first responders remove the driver from his car, police said, and he was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. The driver was not wearing a seat belt, police said, and hit his head on the passenger window and dashboard area.
