Fire At Auto Body Shop Results In $450K In Damages: Santa Rosa FD
Crews who responded to the blaze at Sparky's Collision Center in Santa Rosa's South Park area found a nearby homeless camp also burning.
SANTA ROSA, CA βA fire in an auto body shop in southeast Santa Rosa early Thursday morning caused $400,000 in damage to the structure and $50,000 to automobiles and other contents inside, a fire battalion chief said.
The fire at Sparky's Collision Center at 509 Frazier Ave. in the South Park area of the city, was reported at 1:18 a.m. Firefighters found a homeless camp and landscaping burning on the side of the single-story, metal-clad commercial building and inside the garage portion, Battalion Chief
Matthew Gloeckner said.
No one was inside the building and the fire was contained in approximately 30 minutes. The shop and garage area sustained significant smoke, heat and fire damage and the office in front of the building sustained smoke damage, Gloeckner said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
