ROHNERT PARK-COTATI, CA — Rohnert Park's quest for a downtown of its own took a "momentous" turn Wednesday, according to the Press Democrat.

Contrary to public pushback and requests to keep the land in public hands, the City Council on Wednesday unanimously approved the $11.2 million sale of the nearly 30-acre property at 6400 State Farm Drive to CenterCal Properties, an El Segundo-based developer, the the Press Democrat reported.

The land deal paves the way for a $400 million downtown district — a project that has been in discussion for more than a decade — along with a preliminary term sheet outlining key development terms, according to reports.
