Sheriff's Office Conducts Death Investigation Near Rohnert Park

ROHNERT PARK, CA — An investigation was continuing into a person's death discovered early Tuesday morning just outside the Rohnert Park city limits.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office received a call at 4:45 a.m. Tuesday from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety about a death in the area of Roberts Lake Road, according to Rob Dillion, PIO for the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's deputies responded and began an investigation.

"Because deputies conduct initial death investigations in these cases and present information to detectives, the process is methodical and detail-oriented," Dillion said. "This process takes time and requires their utmost attention. Many times, the results of investigations can change from hour to hour as more information becomes available."

The person's identity and cause of death were still being investigated late Tuesday.
