Silver Alert: Search Continues For Missing At-Risk Santa Rosa Man
Authorities searched overnight and into Tuesday for Lawrence "Larry" Atchison, 64, who suffers from dementia and does not know his way home.

SONOMA COUNTY, CA β Multiple agencies continued to search Tuesday for an at-risk man reported missing Monday from Santa Rosa.
Lawrence "Larry" Atchison has not been seen since Monday afternoon when he left his residence on Leafwood Circle in the Bennett Valley area of Santa Rosa, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.
"Lawrence has dementia and does not know how to navigate his way around the city and will not know how to return home," police said.

Lawrence is 64 years old, 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. He has gray hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black Columbia jacket without a hood, dark blue jeans and black slip-on shoes.
With the help of residents, SRPD detectives have since found residential surveillance footage that showed Atchison walking in the area of Summerfield Road and Carissa Avenue at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

The Sonoma County Search and Rescue Team searched until 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and SRPD maintained the search all night with several officers who were held over from the original shifts.
Drones were deployed to search the neighborhoods and additional air support and searches were conducted by a Sonoma County Fire helicopter.
SRPD's Violent Crime Team, which is responsible for missing adult investigations, took over the investigation overnight and worked with CHP on a Silver Alert that was sent out early Tuesday morning.
The Santa Rosa Fire Department and the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office also assisted with the initial search.
At 8 a.m. Tuesday, the Sonoma County Search and Rescue Team resumed its search with numerous volunteers.
Tracking dog K-9 Gremly from California Rescue Dog Association helped search neighborhoods where Larry was last seen.
SRPD detectives, Downtown Enforcement Officers, motorcycle officers, and SRPD volunteers were searching Bennett Valley and Annadel State Park.
Police asked residents of Leafwood Circle, Carissa Avenue, Summerfield Road, or adjoining areas to check all personal and residential surveillance footage for images of Atchison.
"This will allow officers and detectives to track Larryβs direction," police said. "Additionally, please check your backyards, unlocked vehicles, sheds (outbuildings), and underneath decks/patios. Larry may have stopped and rested but now is lost. If you locate any footage of Larry or if you have seen Larry, please contact the SRPD Communication Center at 707-528-5222."
