
A plume of smoke was sent up into the sky over Rancho Cordova after a grass fire started Friday along the American River.Β
Fox40 news news reports, firefighters were able to contain the blaze to 40 acres, battling the blaze near Coloma Road and Rossmore Drive.

This is the third fire this week along the American River.Β A similar fire torched 100 acres onΒ Thursday, according to KCRA,Β but that blaze roared along Highway 160, just north of downtown Sacramento, reporting itΒ was similar to the terrain that burned Friday.
