Cheese Steak Shop Partners with Crystal Rodriguez Softball Tournament

The tournament is this weekend in memory of Crystal Rodriguez who was killed in a freak parasailing accident during her Bahamas honeymoon last summer.

This weekend, locals will come together to , who was killed when the parasailing harness she was strapped to snapped mid-air during her honeymoon in the Bahamas last summer.

The is set for Saturday and Sunday at and will raise money toward a scholarship fund for a student at Casa Roble High School in Orangevale, where Crystal Rodriguez graduated.

More than 20,000 was raised last year, according to Fox 40, and that money went mostly to cover Crystal’s husband, Victor Rodriguez’s medical expenses. Victor suffered multiple injuries during the fall and has since recovered.

This year, has decided to help out. They will donate 20 percent of Saturday and Sunday sales to the softball tournament, according to Dosanjh, co-owner of the new Roseville franchise. Just mention that you’d like a portion of your purchase to go toward Crystal Rodriguez’s foundation.

According to Arena Softball, more than 250 players will compete in this year’s tournament.
