• California woman 'beat daughter, 7, to death and abused kids until they stopped calling her mom' (themirror.com) — Roseville police responded to a home where a 7-year-old girl was found unresponsive and later died, while her 5-year-old sister was hospitalized with injuries. The children’s mother and her boyfriend, a former Citrus Heights police officer, now face murder, conspiracy, and felony child abuse charges as they publicly blame each other for the abuse. Authorities say additional torture charges are expected.
