Around 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 12, catalytic converters were stolen from a few vehicles parked near Nordstrom. An Asian male (no further description) was seen acting suspiciously next to one of the victim vehicles. He drove away in an older red pickup.
Roseville Police continue to get a lot of reports of stolen catalytic converters. They're expensive emission-control parts mounted underneath cars. Thieves unbolt or saw them off, then sell them to metal recyclers. Thieves prefer Toyota pickups and Toyota SUVs. If you own such a vehicle, the safest place to park it is your locked garage. If you see anyone acting suspiciously around a parked car (crawling underneath or looking underneath), get a description of the suspicious person and their vehicle, including a license plate number if possible, and call 911 immediately.
