Gas Leak Causes Evacuations of Downtown Roseville Businesses
A gas leak was reported Wednesday morning at Rustic Grains Bakery on Vernon Street.

The Roseville Fire Department and Pacific Gas & Electric responded to a gas leak at , at 406 Vernon St. in Downtown Roseville Wednesday morning, July 25.
According to Brian Jacobson with the City of Roseville, someone called PG&E to report a smell of gas inside the business. PG&E called the Roseville Fire Department and when firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a high level of gas at the door of Rustic Grains and an even higher level inside the business.
Businesses in the 400 block of Vernon Street were evacuated while workers tried to contain the leak. PG&E was able to quickly secure the flow, Jacobson said.

No one was inside the business at the time of the leak and no injuries were reported, according to Jacobson.
The cause of the gas leak is currently under investigation, Jacobson said.

People have been allowed back inside several area businesses and should be able to return inside the rest of the businesses shortly, according to Jacobson.
