Roseville's Squeeze Burger to close location after more than 15 years, to become food truck (fox40.com) — Squeeze Burger is closing its longtime Roseville location on North Sunrise Avenue this month after more than 15 years, but plans to keep serving customers as a roaming food truck. The owners say the lease expires Jan. 31 and their last day in the current spot will be Saturday, Jan. 24, 2026, while they look for a new permanent home and regular Roseville truck locations.
   

2. Brutal flu strain claims another life in Roseville as family urges vaccination (kcra.com) — A 77-year-old Roseville man has died after contracting a severe flu strain, and his family is urging neighbors to get vaccinated. Doctors say this year’s shot doesn’t perfectly match the strain but can still reduce symptoms, especially for seniors and young children. Health officials warn flu season will continue into spring, so precautions remain important.
   

3. Amy's to shutter last remaining Bay Area drive-thru restaurant (eastbaytimes.com) — Amy’s is closing its original Rohnert Park drive-thru in March, completing the shutdown of all four of its California drive-thru restaurants. For Roseville residents, the piece notes Amy’s had already announced closing its Roseville drive-thru back in February 2024, as the company shifts focus to selling its packaged foods in stores.

HISTORY: Snowbound in the Sierras (nhjournal.com) — A historic winter rail disaster once played out on the notorious stretch of track between Sparks, Nevada and Roseville when a luxury streamliner was trapped in massive Sierra snowdrifts. Over three frigid days in January 1952, passengers endured failing heat and dwindling supplies until rescuers on skis and dogsleds finally evacuated them, turning a glamorous journey into a survival story.
