Patch Celebrates 6 Months Serving Roseville
Roseville Patch launched June 14. Here's a look at how you can get involved on Roseville Patch.

It’s been six months since Roseville Patch first introduced itself to the community. It was our goal then and is still to become your hub for not only community news, but information and conversation centered around Roseville.
While we’ve been privileged and honored to have had some readers along for the entire ride (thank you!), we have also welcomed many newcomers to the site in recent weeks and months (welcome!).
As we said when we first launched, this site has been tailored especially for you. Simply put, Roseville Patch is all about you.

Patch is designed to make sure you have lots of opportunities to comment on the stories we write, share your opinions, post your own photos and announcements and even add events to the community calendar. It is our hope that Patch will strengthen the community, but we can't do it without you.

1. Comment on an Article
We subscribe to the idea that "news is a conversation." Much of our reporting comes from what readers tell us in e-mails, other feedback and conversations around town. Add your comment to the bottom of any story, but please stay respectful.
2. Post an Event
Do you have a garage sale coming up, know about a school fundraiser or an art exhibit at a local coffee shop? You can add your event to our calendar here.
3. Social Media Engagement
You can "like" us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. Immerse yourself in our content and actively contribute and engage via social media. If you're already a fan of us on Facebook and Twitter, please tell your friends to follow us too.
4. Review Restaurants
Do you want to be the first to tell your friends whether the new restaurant in town gets a thumbs-up? You can post a review of your favorite (or not-so favorite) restaurants. Or, search to find what you're craving -- you can filter results by cuisine, price or seating accommodations, and a ton of other features.
5. Send a News Tip
At the top of our News page, there's a button that will let you share hot tips about what's happening in town. Don't hesitate to tell us about stories we should cover. Your message will be sent straight to Lauren Gibbs, Roseville Patch's editor.
6. Post a Free Announcement
Post births, engagements, obituaries and wedding announcements. Tell us who made the honor roll or share school awards, social notes and thank you shout outs. If you're looking for volunteers or searching for your lost puppy, we welcome you to call on your community for help. Just remember, our Terms of Use say announcements should be for personal use and not for advertising.
7. Sign Up for Newsletters
The daily Roseville Patch newsletter brings you all the articles and announcements that have been posted in the last 24 hours. It is delivered to your e-mail daily at 6 a.m. You should see the sign-up box at the top left of the home page if you haven't signed up already.
8. Ask a Question
Maybe you want to know where locals go for a good cup of coffee in Roseville or where you can get an inexpensive haircut. The Q&A section is a place where you can post a question to fellow Roseville residents or respond to a question.
9. Claim Your Directory Listing
Our team of researchers actually hit the streets and visited businesses, schools, parks, libraries and more so we can provide photos and detailed info about all your local services. To contact us about the listing for your business or organization, just e-mail us at directorysupport@patch.com. If you own or manage a business or group in our directory, visit your listing and claim it to add info, photos and more.
10. Shout It Out!
You can tell us what you have to say right now by using the shout box in the right column on the homepage. Whatever you "shout" will go directly into the stream, right on the homepage. Items flagged at least twice will be hidden. (The same goes for comments on stories.)
11. Upload Your Photos and Videos
Upload videos of high school football touchdowns or your Roseville Little Leaguer's first home run. Post photos from local festivals, or send in a snapshot of your best holiday recipes. We invite you to share with the rest of the community the memories you've caught on camera. If we don't already have a story posted that you can add to, just e-mail me at lauren.gibbs@patch.com.
12. Advertise With Us
For all advertising queries, please send an e-mail to Ryan Donahue at ryan.donahue@patch.com.
13. Send a Letter to the Editor
Patch would like to invite every member of the Roseville community to submit a letter to the editor. Express your thoughts or concerns about anything that might be stirring up conversation around town, and we'll post it. Make sure it's not longer than 300 words and e-mail it to me at lauren.gibbs@patch.com.
