Police: Man Brandished Handgun During Craigslist iPhone Sale

Roseville Police are searching for suspects who stole an iPhone and brandished a handgun at a victim during an arranged Craigslist sale.

Roseville Police are searching for suspects involved in a Craigslist deal gone wrong.

Around 10:45 p.m. July 29, a man had an iPhone stolen during an arranged Craigslist sale in a parking lot on Sunrise Avenue and Cirby Way in Roseville. The man arranged to meet the potential buyer at the parking lot to complete the sale, but instead had the iPhone stolen and a gun brandished at him, according to Roseville Police.

When they met, the potential buyer grabbed the phone away from the victim and a fight ensued.  The “buyer's” companion brandished a handgun, and they left in a waiting vehicle.

Roseville Police are now searching for the suspects. One suspect is described as a black male, between 20-23 years old, 6’4” tall and about 190 pounds with black hair in dreadlocks. According to the victim, he had tattoos on both arms. The second suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, 5’7” tall, about 160 pounds with a buzz cut hairdo.

The two males left in a red late-model hatchback, similar to a Mazda, driven by a Hispanic woman, according to police.
