Poll Results: Walmart Not Needed in Granite Bay

It’s true – a Walmart Neighborhood Market is coming to the Sierra Oaks shopping center bordering Roseville and Granite Bay, according to the Sacramento Business Journal.
But in our , when we asked readers if a Walmart was welcome in the area, the majority of voters said no. The reasoning behind their objection? A Walmart in Roseville about 2 miles away.
According to the article, it will be a groceries-only Walmart; currently Grocery Outlet runs in some of the space Walmart plans to open in, while the rest of the space Walmart wants is empty.

We had 91 votes in our poll as of Saturday afternoon with 50 percent of voters saying Walmart is not needed in the area. However, 31 percent of voters said Walmart was a good thing for the community as it brings in business and jobs.
