Roseville Voters Have Given More Money to Obama than Romney

Roseville voters have given more money to President Barack Obama than Republican nominee Mitt Romney, according to data from the Federal Elections Commission.

These most recent numbers—which run from April 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012—show Obama supporters in Roseville have given approximately $58,000, while Romney supporters have given about $40,000.

Though Roseville voters gave more money to the Obama campaign, it was in much smaller and more frequent increments. The records show that local Obama supporters gave an average contribution of $98—whereas local Romney supporters gave an average contribution of $268. When it comes to donations more than $1,000, Obama has received 5 and Romney has received 16.

The contribution data indicates that Obama has the lead among Roseville voters, which is not consistent with recent voter registration numbers for Placer County. In April 2011, the Placer County Elections Office reported that Republicans outnumbered Democrats in the county 95,590 to 57,172.
