Week in Review, Dec. 25: Layaway Santas, New Sports Bar, More

Here's a look at what went on in Roseville last week:

- A 19-year-old was arrested in connection with an October home invasion robbery where residents and children were tied up with zip ties and a River City bank robbery in November.

- Roseville city offices will be closed Monday, Dec. 26 through Monday, Jan. 2.

- A man was ejected from his vehicle after the truck he was driving went off the roadway, through a fence and rolled onto an I-80 on-ramp.

- “Secret Santas” are making rounds to retailers to pay customers’ remaining layaway balances and they’ve made stops here in Roseville.

- Roseville Police arrested Anthony Herrera Dec. 19 on suspicion of a car burglary in the Vernon Street parking garage.

- Placer County Superior Court recently ruled that Roseville Joint Union High School District must pay approximately $200,000 in legal fees after a battle involving a parent's rights to access his child's school records.

- Officers are investigating local metal recyclers who are buying large quantities of sawed-off catalytic converters and copper wire in an effort to stop metal dealers who create a market for stolen metal.

- A new upscale sports bar and restaurant is open on Eureka Road in Roseville, features local wine and brews.
