Circus Vargas: The circus is back in Roseville through Monday, Aug. 13. New this year is a human rocket, plus a bunch of other acrobatic shows.
When: Thursday, Aug. 9 through Monday, Aug. 13
Showtimes: 8 p.m. Aug. 9; 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Aug. 10 and Aug. 11; 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aug. 12; 7 p.m. Aug. 13

Tickets: Range $25-$65 for adults; $20-$55 for children ages 2-11

Saturday, Aug. 11

The Heritage Trail: 18 Placer County museums will open for free for the Heritage Trail, including the Maidu Museum & Historic Site and the Carnegie Museum in Roseville.
When: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 and Sunday, Aug. 12
Where: Museums throughout Placer County

Movies in the Park: Saturday's free Movie in the Park will feature "Bee Movie." Sponsored by the Roseville Coalition of Neighborhood Associations, the free starlight cinemas run through Aug. 25 this summer. Residents can mingle with neighbors and grab a seat on the grass to watch a movie under the stars.
When: Movies begin at sundown; Saturday, Aug. 11

Summer Concert Series at the Fountains: During the summer, the Fountains at Roseville hosts a number of concerts. Saturday's concert will feature "Catfish & The Crawdaddies." According to the Sacramento News & Review, the band is a five-member blues group.

Bar 101 Grand Opening: A new bar and restaurant in Historic Old Town Roseville is celebrating its grand opening this weekend. They'll have happy hour all day, drink specials and entertainment.
When: Bar opens at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11; free appetizers will be served 8-10 p.m.
