Grandson Killed 97-Year-Old; Hid Grandmother's Body In Trunk: Police
Neighbors called for a welfare check when they hadn't seen the elderly woman after a few days, police said.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA — A man is accused of killing his 97-year-old grandmother and hiding her body in the trunk of his vehicle, according to authorities.
Brian Wiggins, 40, was arrested on suspicion of murder and his 31-year-old girlfriend, Dozsha Beckwith, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and accessory after the fact, police said.
Sheriff’s deputies responded Friday afternoon to a call for a welfare check on an elderly woman who lived in the 4200 block of American River Drive in Sacramento County, according to police, who said the woman's neighbors reported they hadn't seen her for a few days. Wiggins and Beckwith answered the door, and Wiggins told deputies his grandmother had just left in an Uber to visit his father at an assisted living facility, police said.
