Helicopter Crash On Highway 50 In Sacramento

Three people were in critical condition, KCRA reported​.

SACRAMENTO, CA — A helicopter crashed Monday night on Highway 50 in Sacramento, according to police.

Preliminary reports from California Highway Patrol incident logs indicated the aircraft emergency occurred just after 7 p.m. on the eastbound highway at 59th Street.

Three people were in critical condition, KCRA reported.

As of about 8:45 p.m., the eastbound highway was closed, and state routes 99 northbound and 51 southbound to eastbound Highway 50 were shut down as well, according to the California Highway Patrol.

“Please use alternate routes and expect delays,” the agency’s South Sacramento office said in a social media post. “Additional closures and congestion possible in the area.”
