ALTA, CA — The body of a missing Sacramento hiker was found near Green Valley Trail in Alta on Sunday morning, authorities said.

The parents of Kerina Blue, 26, reported their daughter missing early Saturday, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office said. She was considered at risk due to medical conditions and her last known location was on the trail Friday afternoon.

The roughly 2 1/2-mile trail is about 52 miles northeast of Sacramento and is used for hiking and mountain biking. The U.S. Forest Service describes it's difficulty level as "most difficult," and it's usage as just lightly trafficked. Some areas are described as steep and rocky, and there's a 2,200-foot elevation change across the hike.

"The terrain is a very rugged and steep densely forested area," the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.

Eighty rescuers, including police dogs and helicopters, were sent to the area Saturday to look for Blue. When they didn't find her, the search was suspended for the night and resumed Sunday morning. The public was asked to stay away from the area as authorities searched.

On Sunday afternoon, the sheriff's office said her body was found near the trail. Further details weren't immediately released.

The sheriff's office told KCRA 3 her death does not appear suspicious.

Brian Egan wrote in a Facebook post that Blue had moved to Sacramento just before her death.

“With an extremely heavy heart I’m sorry to say that I hope Kerina’s memory will be a blessing," Egan said, according to Fox3. "I will be deleting this post at the end of the day to give space for Blue’s family. I’ll miss you, Blue."
