NorCal Man Accused Of Beheading 1-Year-Old Son With Knife
Andrey Demskiy, 28, is also accused of assaulting his wife and mother-in-law during what authorities described as a "gruesome" attack.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, CA — A Sacramento County father is accused of using a knife to behead and kill his 1-year-old son in what authorities described as a "gruesome" early-morning attack.
Andrey Demskiy, 28, was arrested Friday after authorities responded to his home in the 7500 block of Versailles Way in North Sacramento County around 4:15 a.m. for a reported family disturbance. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, Demskiy assaulted his wife and mother-in-law before they fled and called authorities.
When deputies arrived at the home, authorities said Demskiy refused to answer the door. Shortly after, officials said deputies learned a 1-year-old child was alone with Demskiy inside the house and he had possibly injured the boy after throwing him.

Fearing for the child's safety, authorities said deputies forced their way into the house and attempted to detain Demskiy, who became uncooperative and became physically resistant.
As deputies took Demskiy into custody, authorities said they discovered a child's severed head in the room. Homicide detectives were called to the scene and later determined that Demskiy used a knife to behead and kill the child, authorities said.
