10 Days Left To Avoid Penalties On Property Tax Bill In San Diego County

Property tax payments are expected to generate more than $9 billion for the region, according to the Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office.

SAN DIEGO, CA — San Diego County residents have 10 days to pay the first installment of their property taxes.

Property owners have until Dec. 10 to pay the first installment of their property taxes before they are considered delinquent and result in more charges, according to the San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector's Office.

"I urge homeowners to go to sdttc.com and pay online — it's the easiest, quickest, and most secure way to pay," San Diego County Treasurer-Tax Collector Larry Cohen said in a statement. "About 80% of our payers pay electronically, saving themselves a trip to the branch or mailbox. All 975,199 secured tax bills are available now at sdttc.com to view and pay."

The first property tax installment was due on Nov. 1, and becomes delinquent after Dec. 10. The second installment is due Feb. 1, 2026, and becomes delinquent after April 10, 2026.
