SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.
But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect lingering critical fire weather conditions as another round of Santa Ana winds is forecast through Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
A red flag warning is in effect from 4 p.m. Monday through 6 p.m. Wednesday for the Inland Empire, inland Orange County, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego mountains, and San Diego valleys. "Moderate to strong offshore flow will remain in place through Wednesday and keep a dry air mass across the region," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. "An extended period of critical fire weather conditions will affect the Southland through midweek due to the combination of gusty winds and very low humidities."
More than two dozen people have now perished in the Palisades and Eaton Fires, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner announced Sunday night. The grim total includes 16 lives lost to the Eaton Fire and eight killed in the Palisdaes Fire.

The deadly wildfires have destroyed at least 35 historic places, according to the latest count Sunday by the Los Angeles Conservancy.
Los Angeles County District Attorney Nathan Hochman Monday will join with local and federal law enforcement officials to announce charges against "a group of people" in a residential looting in Pacific Palisades, as well as arson charges against a man in the city of Azusa.
In other news, one man was killed and another was wounded in a shooting at a Hollywood nightclub.
