25th Annual Walk For Animals North County Slated This Weekend

ESCONDIDO, CA — Walk for Animals North County is back this weekend after being rained out last year.

Walk for Animals North County, which is one of San Diego Humane Society's largest annual fundraisers, is slated Saturday at Kit Carson Park in Escondido. The 25th annual event will feature a pancake breakfast, a two-mile walk, dog activities, live music and vendor booths.

The event raises funds to help the organization shelter homeless pets, rescue animals from cruelty and neglect, rehabilitate native wildlife, respond to natural disasters, and more.

Registration begins at 7 a.m. Saturday, along with a complimentary pancake breakfast and live entertainment at Kit Carson Park at 3333 Bear Valley Parkway in Escondido.

A blessing of the animals, warm-up and stretch is scheduled at 8:20 a.m. The walk will start at 9 a.m., followed by dog-friendly games and activities. The vendor village will run until 11 a.m.
