SAN DIEGO, CA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.
But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect an early season storm system to bring showers and strong winds to the region, according to the National Weather Service.
"A low pressure system moving southward along the West Coast will bring stronger onshore winds Monday into Tuesday night, along with widespread precipitation from the coast to the mountains Monday night into Tuesday night," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Sunday. "Gradual warming and drying with periods of weak offshore flow Wednesday through Friday. For next weekend, the warming continues inland while marine layer clouds and fog return to the coastal areas."

In other news, a man who went missing in 2011 was found safe, an actor from the 1990s sitcom "Family Matters" was arrested by Border Patrol agents; a man was killed in a shooting that involved an off-duty sheriff's deputy; five people were hospitalized after a helicopter crashed along the Pacific Coast Highway; and three suspects stole multiple items from a man during an ambush-style robbery,
