75 -Year-Old Woman Crashes Into Several Cars In San Diego

The woman hit several parked vehicles and a retaining wall in the Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 75-year-old woman was injured after striking several parked vehicles and a retaining wall in the Bay Park neighborhood of San Diego, authorities said Saturday.

The woman was driving her Lexus IS 250 and began to drive out of the parking lot of a business on the 2500 block of Clairemont Drive at 4:02 p.m. Friday when she made a left turn and hit an unoccupied vehicle in a parking stall, police said. She continued driving northeast through the parking lot, striking another parked vehicle in a stall and after exiting the parking lot through the east driveway, crashed into a third vehicle that was traveling south on 2700 Denver Street.

The driver continued driving and entered the west driveway of 2606 Clairemont Drive, where she crashed into a retaining wall at the exit driveway of a carwash, police said.

The woman sustained an open fracture to her ankle. No one else was injured and authorities say driving under the influence was not a factor in the multiple crashes.
