- Do you work outside? If you do, you should be aware of your rights when working in temperatures above 80 degrees. California requires business owners to take heat illness prevention measures to protect their workers. Outdoor workers have the right to water, shade, and cool-down periods, as well as protections provided by OSHA. These are your rights if you work outdoors when temperatures are intense. - Tourism is back! At $32 billion, tourism dollars are a mainstay of our California economy. Spending in California, which stood at $28 billion in 2019, was only $5.4 billion in 2021. Here in San Diego, tourism has been slow to recover. However, given its warm weather, beaches, and ample sunshine, San Diego is optimistic about the increase of tourism, post the COVID-19 pandemic. - They were erected in the 1900s. Today, several native tribes want them gone. They are the Mission Bells on El Camino Real and on Gilman Drive. "The bells represent slavery, brutality,” said Valentin Lopez, chair of the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band in Central and Northern California.
