Amazon Announces It Will Hire 1,500 Seasonal Workers In San Diego Region
The Seattle-based company said it will hire for a total 20,000 full-time and part-time positions in customer fulfillment and transportation.

Retailing giant Amazon announced Thursday it has begun hiring 1,500 seasonal workers in the San Diego area to help with holiday package deliveries.

The Seattle-based company said it will hire for a total 20,000 full-time and part-time positions in customer fulfillment and transportation throughout California.
Southern California cities with open seasonal positions include Bakersfield, Irvine, Livermore, Los Angeles, Riverside, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino and San Diego.

Amazon said starting pay will vary, but average $19 per hour.
“Whether someone is looking for some extra money for a few months or a long-term career, the holidays are a great time for people to join Amazon, and many of our seasonal employees return year-after-year or transition into full-time roles,” said John Felton, Amazon’s wenior vice president of worldwide operations.
