Here are the top stories today in San Diego:

  1. San Diego's already high rental costs are predicted to continue rising through 2024. This information comes from the USC Casden Economics Forecast released this week. How high will rents go? The projection shows that rent increases will go to $250 by October 2024. While San Diego continues to build new housing, it still needs much more to keep up with demand. (Patch)
  2. With COVID-19 and influenza on the rise again, San Diego County officials are urging residents to get vaccinations for both diseases now. The latest increase marks a total of 300 cases over the previous week. Flu cases confirmed by labs reflect a jump of 1,201 over the prior week. Don't wait, get your vaccinations now. (Times of San Diego)
  3. Don't like to cook? You may want to consider going out for dinner on Thanksgiving Day. It would be wise to make reservations now, so you won't be disappointed. With a wide range of dining options available around town, you can feast at restaurants offering fine dining, at casual restaurants or at fast-food locations. There's something for everyone. 4. Local artists will be featured prominently on the campus of the new Southeastern Live Well Center, which will open in summer 2023. The painters, sculptors, woodworkers and other artists working at the center come from diverse backgrounds and have roots in the community. Their work will be on view for all to enjoy throughout the center’s 65,000 square feet of space. The Live Well Center will provide services for families, older adults and veterans in the community.
