Average San Diego Area Gas Price Drops To Lowest Amount Since Jan. 30

The average price has dropped 15 of the past 16 days, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

SAN DIEGO, CA — The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Thursday to its lowest amount since Jan. 30, decreasing two-tenths of a cent to $4.627.

The average price has dropped 15 of the past 16 days, decreasing 7.6 cents, including seven-tenths of a cent Wednesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It dropped 12 consecutive days, rose a half-cent Monday and resumed decreasing Tuesday.

The average price is 2.4 cents less than one week ago, 5.8 cents lower than one month ago and $1.568 below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.808 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.

The national average price dropped for the sixth consecutive day after a four-day streak of increases totaling 1.5 cents, decreasing six-tenths of a cent to $3.19. It has dropped 3.3 cents over the past six days, including eight-tenths of a cent Wednesday.

The national average price is 3 cents less than one week ago, 13.5 cents lower than one month ago and 60.8 cents below what it was one year ago. It has dropped $1.826 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
