Boy Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash In North County
Police announced on Friday that the child died of his injuries in the hospital.
ESCONDIDO, CA — Authorities on Friday were continuing to search for the driver of a car that fatally struck a child and then fled the accident scene in San Diego's North County.
The hit-and-run crash happened at about 5 p.m. Wednesday when an 11-year-old boy was struck in the 400 block of East Washington Avenue in Escondido, according to the Escondido Police Department.
The boy was first taken to an area hospital, then later airlifted to Rady Children's Hospital in San Diego. Police announced on Friday that the child died of his injuries in the hospital.
