Starla Lewis – Professor Emerita, Author, Poet, Speaker, Life Coach
A visionary educator and cultural leader with over 40 years of service, Starla Lewis is a
seven-time Mesa College Teacher of the Year, San Diego Women’s Hall of Fame inductee
(2015), and KPBS Local Hero. In 2019, the San Diego City Council proclaimed December 20 as
Professor Starla Lewis Day. Her life’s work affirms that all people are “Brilliant, Powerful,
Limitless, and Love.”

With more than 54 years in holistic health, Dr. Derah is certified in six natural health disciplines
