California Company Makes $50M Selling 'Ugly Christmas Sweaters'
Who knew that selling tasteless and tacky apparel would pay off?
SAN DIEGO, CA -- Who knew that selling tasteless and tacky apparel would pay off? One California company did. San Diego-based Tipsy Elves has surpassed the $50 million mark after selling ugly Christmas sweaters for six years.
NBC reported that the company, which was founded by Evan Mendelsohn and Nicklaus Morton, gained success after an appearance on the television show, Shark Tank, where budding entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of millionaires.
"After a run on the show, Shark Tank, the company really took off. Robert Herjavec, one of the sharks, chose to invest," the news station reported. "The investment was the most successful that Herjavec has made on the show."
