Campers at Three Discovery Isle Preschools in San Diego Donate 20 Bags of Baby Care Items to Infants in Need
Campers at three schools donated baby clothing, diapers and other essential items to Gently Hugged
Summer campers at Discovery Isle Preschools in the San Diego area recently held a donation drive to collect care items and new or lightly used infant clothing to benefit children supported by Gently Hugged, a local organization that collects clothing and supplies for children in need in the community. Campers and their families collected more than 20 bags full of clothing and care items, including pajamas, hats, onesies, socks, and more.
Discovery Isle Preschool instills a sense of social responsibility at an early age by implementing opportunities for students to learn about the importance of giving back to their communities and helping others in need. Its signature Links to Learning preschool curriculum emphasizes social-emotional learning as a stepping stone for kindergarten and beyond. Teachers work with children to help recognize and label emotions in themselves and others, while learning how they fit into their community and the larger world.
